“ I don't say this often but this place is a little gem. Lovely friendly staff, class food (thank you chef) and reasonable prices. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ”
“ My wife and I ordered a collection from Pataka the other week. We had heard good things and we weren’t disappointed. The menu is vast but I like how they have recommendations on their website to help you decide. My wife went with the lamb Pasanda and I went with the Royal Murgha which was a recommendation. We got the Pataka Assorted Kebabs to share and boiled rice and a couple of naans. We ordered on the phone which was easy. I went in to collect. I was a little early but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They even gave us free poppadoms since it was our first time. I am afraid I can’t give a score for the atmosphere because we didn’t sit in but it seemed nice. The shop is small but nice. The food stayed warm when we got home. All the food was really tasty. Excellent flavours. We really loved the dips that came with the popadoms. My wife’s Pasanda was nice although she did think that the lamb was a little on the dry side but still enjoyable. Next time we would like to sit in because the food is always better that way. ”
“ Came to Edinburgh from Liverpool for a city break away and decided to visit Pataka for an Indian. The food and atmosphere was great, staff very attentive and I would eat here again if ever visiting the area as I was promised the recipe for the tikka masala next time I come back!! Would highly recommend this restaurant. ”
“ Our 2nd visit to Edinburgh and our 2nd visit to this gem of a curry house! My wife had the chicken jalfrezi with pilau rice, whilst I had a hot chicken vindaloo with rice also. Our naans were freshly cooked and piping hot. Staff were attentive, friendly and chatty. When we return to the city, we will definitely be making a point of coming back here, highly recommended. ”
“ Had a terrific, rapidly delivered meal from Pataka tonight. Mixed starter, pakora, pathia, butter chicken and sides, he'll even the salad was much better than most places. All really tasty, came super quick, best delivery we've had in a decade from all the local Indian take aways!!! ”
“ We have visited four or five times in the last two years and had more than a dozen deliveries. I highly recommend Pataka. It has a relaxed atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff knowledgeable about what on the menu is vegan. Our regular vegan order includes Vegetable Madras, Sabzi Chilli Dall, Sabzi Jalfrezie, and Saag Aloo with Chapatis and Pilau Rice. Delicious. ”
“ Great service, tasty food. Would definitely recommend. ”
“ Really excellent food with a great selection—could have used a bit of help with the menu but everything we did get was delicious! ”
